THIS WEEKEND, FEATURING GOODIES FROM OUR LOCAL TIM HORTON'S !!!
When: Saturday, May 3, 2025
Time: 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Rain or Shine!
Where: Old Mill Pond Pavilion (White Cedar Dr. and Rouge Bank Dr.)
The LCRA is proudly hosting the 2025 Spring Clean Up.
We need your help to keep Legacy beautiful and show great community spirit by investing a little bit of your time for a significant return. After all, who does not want to spend time outside these days? Bring your kids, friends and make it a family activity and provide a valuable lesson in helping our earth (and neighbourhood) stay clean and green.
We always conduct a safe event and will provide everyone with protective gloves, garbage bags and tools, so all you need to bring is your energy and enthusiasm to give our community a little facelift.
We expect to count on the great support from Markham Green and the City of Markham Parks Department with onsite presence of a crewman and truck to facilitate the dispatch and pickups of trash.
Please join us at the Old Mill Pond balcony at 9:00 a.m., but you are also welcome to join whenever you can. After you arrive, we will dispatch you or your team to work with an Area Coordinator to cover problematic target spaces. Our event will continue until around 12:00 PM. Even if you cannot make it, please be sure to clean up the area immediately in front of your homes this weekend, as our crews generally concentrate on shared community areas.
As in the past, we value the participation of our Legacy youth and we will be sure to sign for and recognize their valuable community hours. If your teen would like to volunteer, please fill out the attached form and return via email to volunteeradmin@legacynet.ca.
If you need further information or have suggestions for this activity or any other community setting related ideas please contact cleanup@legacynet.ca.
GET INVOLVED
We try our very best to keep Legacy beautiful by organizing the Spring Community Clean Up and also by keeping in close contact and partnering with City officials for matters such as graffiti removal, park signage, repair to park benches, illegal dumping, etc. We would appreciate volunteers to ‘adopt a park area’ and during your walk carry a bag and a grabber (we will provide it for free!!!) to pick up litter. If you are willing to do so or if you have suggestions, related ideas or want to get involved to help Community Setting in Legacy please contact Imran at setting@legacynet.ca.
